At least 30 people were killed in a Russian strike on public transport in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, local officials said. The attack also wounded 18 people, according to the regional prosecutor's office in Donetsk.

Prosecutors said the vehicle was hit at about 10am by an aerial bomb. Local authorities suspended all public transport services following the strike.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Kremlin had deliberately targeted an ordinary public transport stop. The reported toll makes the attack one of the deadliest strikes on civilians in Ukraine this year.

Kramatorsk is a major city in the Donetsk region, close to the frontline of Russia's war against Ukraine. Details of the attack were reported by The Guardian.
